NEWARK, DE—Delaware State Police are currently investigating a fatal collision involving a motorcycle and a car that occurred on Pulaski Highway in Newark last Tuesday.

The accident took place on August 6 at approximately 5:01 PM. A Harley Davidson FXS motorcycle, traveling eastbound in the left lane, collided with a Nissan Altima. The car was moving westbound and attempted to cross over to the eastbound lane east of Wrangle Hill Road, directly into the path of the motorcycle. The impact caused the motorcycle to strike the passenger’s side of the Altima, resulting in the ejection of the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist, a 45-year-old woman from Bear, Delaware, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. She succumbed to her injuries on Thursday, August 8. Her identity has not been released pending notification of her family.

The driver of the Altima, a 24-year-old man from Newark, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to the hospital. Further details of the crash are still under investigation, and authorities are handling the ongoing case.
