Female Suspect in Attempted Carjacking Caught On Camera In D.C.

Washington, D.C. – Detectives from the D.C. Metro Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force are requesting the help of the public in identifying and locating a woman involved in an attempted armed carjacking. The incident occurred on the 100 block of Kennedy Street in Northwest, D.C., Saturday morning.

At around 10:00 AM, a victim was in their running vehicle when the female suspect entered the car and threatened the victim with a knife, demanding they exit the vehicle. Despite the demand, the victim resisted the suspect’s efforts to take the car, resulting in the victim sustaining a minor injury. The assailant then abandoned the attempt and escaped on foot.

Authorities urge anyone with information about the suspect or the attempted carjacking to contact the police at (202) 727-9099. Alternatively, tips can be sent via text to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411, but the public is advised not to approach the suspect.
