NYPD hunts armed trio after little girl shot in terrifying Bronx attack

BRONX, N.Y. — A 5-year-old girl suffered a graze wound to the head after gunfire erupted on a Bronx street Wednesday evening, sending three armed suspects fleeing on foot as police launched a search for those responsible.

The shooting happened around 5:25 p.m. in front of 1007 Southern Boulevard, according to NYPD Crimestoppers.

Police said the young victim was standing outside when three unidentified individuals displayed firearms and opened fire.

Authorities said the girl suffered a graze wound to the right side of her head during the shooting.

The suspects fled southbound on Southern Boulevard toward East 163rd Street immediately after the gunfire, investigators said.

Police have not released descriptions of the suspects.

The child’s condition has not been updated beyond the reported injury.

The NYPD is asking anyone with information about the shooting or the suspects to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

Spanish-speaking callers can contact police at 1-888-57-PISTA. Tips may also be submitted online through the NYPD Crime Stoppers website or through the department’s social media tip accounts.

No arrests have been announced.
