CLEAR SPRING, MD – Maryland State Police have arrested four suspects in connection with a triple homicide and house fire that left three people dead earlier this month in Washington County.

Investigators announced the arrests Friday night, confirming all four individuals are being held without bond.

The case stems from a November 18 blaze in the 13800 block of National Pike in Clear Spring, where firefighters discovered three victims inside a burning home.

Officials said the victims included one adult male and two adult females, while two family dogs were safely rescued and turned over to the SPCA.

Joint investigation uncovers homicide

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit conducted the investigation, which revealed the deaths were not accidental.

Fire crews from Clear Spring and surrounding departments initially arrived at about 4:30 a.m. to find the residence fully engulfed.

After extinguishing the flames, investigators remained on scene throughout the day, working to determine the cause and origin of the fire.

Victims’ identities pending confirmation

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is working to positively identify the three victims and determine their exact causes of death.

Acting State Fire Marshal Jason M. Mowbray expressed condolences to the victims’ families and the Clear Spring community, calling the incident “a heartbreaking tragedy.”

The four suspects remain in custody without bond as the Maryland State Police continue their investigation into the Clear Spring triple murder and house fire.
