Jackson K-9 units praised after locating missing juveniles and tracking suspects
JACKSON, NJ – Two K-9 units from the Jackson Police Department are being recognized for a string of successful operations, including the safe recovery of multiple endangered juveniles and assisting in serious criminal investigations.
K-9 Brix and K-9 Robbie, alongside their handlers Officer Minissale and Officer Jamison, have been credited with multiple accomplishments over the past year that highlight the continued value of the department’s K-9 program.
In one case, K-9 Brix tracked and located an endangered missing juvenile near West County Line. In a separate search, Brix again found a juvenile reported missing in the Bowman Road area. The K-9 team also responded to multiple bomb threats, including incidents at a school, a commercial building, and a local outlet shopping center.
Meanwhile, K-9 Robbie successfully located an endangered missing juvenile in the Lakehurst Road area. In another operation, Robbie tracked down a fleeing criminal suspect on Toms River Road. The team also assisted in several drug possession and distribution investigations, with Robbie playing a leading role in identifying illegal narcotics.
The department noted that both teams have worked under the guidance of Officer Ed Joos of the N.J. Transit Police Department, who serves as their trainer. Officials also acknowledged the community’s ongoing support of the K-9 program.
The Jackson Police Department plans to periodically highlight the achievements of its K-9 teams as part of its public outreach and recognition efforts.
