Toms River, NJ – A new wave of playground installations is poised to reshape neighborhood parks across Toms River as playground equipmet arrives and crews prepare to begin work, marking the latest expansion of recreation space in one of Ocean County’s biggest municipal park system.
According to Mayor Dan Rodrick, MRC Equipment has delivered new playground structures and is expected to begin installation once weather conditions allow. Township officials estimate construction could start within the next month, pending favorable conditions.
The upgrades will target four parks: BayLea, Deer Hollow, Sky View, and Winding River South. The improvements are part of a broader effort to enhance public recreation facilities and maintain modern standards across the township’s park system.
Mayor Rodrick has also been looking to expand the township’s park system in Downtown Toms River to eventually create a Downtown River Walk complete with a sprinkler park and waterfront entertainment and dining.
These latest additions will complement an existing inventory of modern parks and playgrounds, including Castle Park, Silverton Park, and Riverwood Park, which remain three of the township’s cornerstone destinations for young families.
Installation timeline and park locations
The newly delivered equipment represents the next phase of playground upgrades planned throughout Toms River. Crews from MRC Equipment are expected to handle installation at each site once scheduling and weather align.
The improvements are designed to expand access to updated play areas in multiple neighborhoods rather than concentrating resources in a single location.
