NEWARK, DE — Delaware State Police have apprehended 33-year-old Moses Warren of Newark, accused of committing a series of felonies including attempted robbery, burglary, and theft across New Castle County businesses. The arrest marks the end of a series of crimes that spanned from January to April, involving multiple attempts to steal cigarettes and other tobacco products from various retail locations.

On January 22, State Police were called to the Royal Farms on Old Baltimore Pike in Newark following an attempted shoplifting incident. Warren was identified as the suspect, leading to a warrant for his arrest. Between March 14 and 20, Warren was linked to thefts at Rite Aid, Walgreens, Royal Farms, and Wawa, prompting additional warrants.

On March 25, a burglary was reported at a BP gas station in New Castle, where Warren and another suspect were identified stealing tobacco products worth nearly $2,000. Further attempts by Warren to shoplift at Wawa on March 27 and engage in a physical altercation during an attempted theft at Royal Farms on March 31 were reported. Additionally, on April 1, Warren shoplifted from Rite Aid on New Castle Avenue.

Warren was wanted for the aforementioned crimes and for two outstanding court warrants. On April 2, he was located in an abandoned building in Wilmington by a collaborative effort of the State Police and taken into custody without incident.
