WOODBRIDGE, VA — Early on Friday at 4:57 AM, police were dispatched to Featherstone Rd. to respond to a reported robbery.
The altercation involved a 24-year-old woman and Maazen Imran Butt, an acquaintance.
The conflict began verbally in a car and escalated, with Butt threatening the victim and assaulting her after dragging her out of the vehicle. He then stole her phone and purse and left the scene with another acquaintance driving.
The victim suffered minor injuries. Police have issued arrest warrants for Butt, a 22-year-old male from Oakwood Dr., described as 6’1” and 195 lbs. with brown hair. He is currently wanted for attempted malicious wounding, robbery, assault & battery, and grand larceny. Efforts to locate Butt have so far been unsuccessful.

Police say both men now face felony charges
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A shooting investigation in Virginia Beach has resulted in felony charges against both the suspected gunman and the man who was wounded, according to police.
The shooting was reported at approximately 1:45 p.m. on July 31 after emergency dispatchers received calls about a shooting in the 500 block of Marsh Duck Way and reports of gunfire in the 900 block of Atlantis Way.
Responding officers found a 22-year-old Virginia Beach man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital in stable condition.
The Virginia Beach Police Department’s Homicide Unit took over the investigation and arrested 18-year-old Quatavious Reid of Virginia Beach.
Police charged Reid with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a trigger activator, commonly known as a switch, and an extended magazine.
Investigators also arrested the 22-year-old shooting victim, charging him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Police said both men are being held without bond.

One glance at a lottery ticket turned an ordinary morning into a life-changing surprise
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A Virginia Beach man got the surprise of his life while eating breakfast after checking a Cash 5 with EZ Match ticket and discovering it was worth $220,003.
The man, who claimed his prize anonymously as permitted under Virginia law, said he looked at his ticket during breakfast and realized he had matched all five numbers to win the jackpot.
He immediately shared the news with his wife.
According to the Virginia Lottery, she didn’t believe him at first. The couple was soon overcome with emotion after realizing the ticket really was a jackpot winner.
The winning ticket was purchased at Royal Farms, 2150 Centerville Turnpike in Virginia Beach, for the July 17 Cash 5 with EZ Match drawing.
The winning numbers were 3, 21, 23, 32 and 33. The player used the Easy Pick option, allowing the lottery terminal to randomly generate the numbers.
The Virginia Beach resident said he plans to invest the winnings.
Cash 5 with EZ Match features a rolling jackpot that starts at a minimum of $200,000. The odds of matching all five numbers to win the jackpot are 1 in 1,221,759.
