Garfield Man Sentenced to 27 Years for Multiple Armed Robberies

PATERSON, NJ – Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announced on Friday that Jimmy German, 22, of Garfield, was sentenced to an aggregate of 27 years in New Jersey State Prison, with 85% to be served before parole eligibility, subject to the No Early Release Act.

A jury found German guilty of multiple counts of robbery and unlawful possession of a handgun.

On January 29, 2021, German committed a series of robberies in Paterson, targeting multiple victims, stealing their personal belongings, including cash, cell phones, and a wallet. Then, on January 31, 2021, he robbed another victim of cash and a cell phone

. German was apprehended by the Paterson Police Department on the same day and found possessing a handgun.

Senior Assistant Prosecutor Robert J. Wisse represented the State in the case, and attorney Matthew J. Cavaliere represented German.
