Clinton County woman claims $1 million prize on New York Millionaire scratch-off

Plattsburgh, NY – A Clinton County lottery player has officially joined New York’s millionaire club after scratching her way to a $1,000,000 top prize on the New York Millionaire game.

Ann Grethe of Morrisonville claimed the prize at New York Lottery headquarters and opted for a one-time lump sum payment. After required withholdings, she received $436,171.

Grethe purchased the winning ticket at Market 32 by Price Chopper, located at 19 Center Drive in Plattsburgh. The New York Millionaire scratch-off game, launched as part of the Lottery’s premium series, still has one top prize remaining as of Thursday.

The New York Lottery urges players to check the latest game reports, including remaining prizes, at nylottery.ny.gov.

The New York Millionaire ticket is one of several $1 million instant games currently in circulation. During the 2024–2025 fiscal year, New York scratch-off games generated more than $4.3 billion in total sales. Clinton County school districts received over $20.9 million in Lottery Aid to Education funds during the same period.
