Washington, D.C. — A late-night confrontation ended with an armed carjacking in the heart of Northeast D.C. on Friday, as multiple suspects forced a driver from their vehicle at gunpoint and fled the scene in the stolen SUV.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:33 p.m. in the 1300 block of C Street NE. According to officials, one suspect displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s belongings. After the victim complied, the suspects escaped in the victim’s gray 2015 Honda CRV, bearing District of Columbia license plate EW2179.

A surveillance camera captured clear images of one of the suspects and the stolen vehicle. Investigators released the footage as they seek the public’s help in identifying those responsible.
No injuries were reported during the encounter, but the suspects remain at large. The case is being investigated as an armed carjacking, and efforts are underway to locate both the vehicle and individuals involved.
The vehicle’s description and surveillance images are being circulated in hopes of generating leads in the case.
Reward offered for information
The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the carjacking.
Officials are urging anyone who may have information to contact MPD at (202) 727-9099 or to anonymously text a tip to 50411. Tips can be provided confidentially, and citizens are advised not to approach the suspect.
The case adds to a string of similar incidents in the area, though it is currently unknown whether the suspects are tied to other crimes.
The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be shared as new information becomes available. The stolen Honda remains unaccounted for as of Sunday.
