Historic long branch firehouse listed for sale at $1. 25 million

LONG BRANCH, NJ – The former home of Atlantic Engine Co. Squad 1, one of Long Branch’s most recognized firehouses, has officially hit the market — and it’s being reborn as a new mixed-use building in the heart of the city’s Broadway Redevelopment Zone.

The property at 353 Broadway, currently under construction, is listed for $1.25 million and offers 3,294 square feet of retail and office space across two floors. Zoned LBC, the site allows for a variety of commercial uses including storefront retail, professional offices, or fitness operations. Each level spans roughly 1,700 square feet and is being marketed as either an investment opportunity or an ideal space for an owner-occupant.

Located within both the Urban Enterprise Zone and the Broadway Redevelopment Zone, the building sits on a 0.69-acre lot in a rapidly changing section of Long Branch’s downtown corridor. Developers and city planners have identified the area as a key component of the city’s long-term economic revitalization efforts, with incentives designed to attract new businesses and mixed-use developments.

The listing marks another chapter for the site of the Atlantic Engine Co. firehouse, a name long associated with the city’s firefighting heritage. Though the original structure has given way to new construction, the location’s legacy remains rooted in Long Branch’s community history.

The property, classified as a Class B building, is expected to be completed and available for occupancy by April 2026.
