SALISBURY, MD — Authorities are investigating a residential fire that caused significant damage to a mobile home in Salisbury, Wicomico County, on Monday afternoon.

The fire occurred at 1026 Hinman Lane around 4:28 p.m., engulfing a 1,000-square-foot mobile home owned by L. Truitt. The structure and its contents sustained an estimated $100,000 in damages.

No injuries were reported, but two occupants were displaced and are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.

The Salisbury Fire Department responded with 45 firefighters and brought the blaze under control within an hour. A smoke alarm was present in the home but was not operational, and no fire alarm or sprinkler system was installed.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with the blaze believed to have originated inside the structure.
