Small town store erupts after massive $1 million lottery win

SAXTON BORO, Pa. — A lucky Pennsylvania Lottery player is holding a scratch-off ticket worth $1 million after the winning Triple Red 777 ticket was sold at a Bedford County convenience store.

Lottery officials said the winning ticket was purchased at Martin General Stores, located at 533 Main St. in Saxton Boro.

The retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Triple Red 777 is a $30 scratch-off game featuring top prizes of $1 million.

Pennsylvania Lottery officials reminded players that scratch-off prizes expire one year after the game’s official end-sale date.

Winners are urged to immediately sign the back of winning tickets and contact the Pennsylvania Lottery to begin the claims process.

Lottery officials also noted that scratch-off tickets are distributed randomly and neither the lottery nor retailers know where winning tickets will appear until prizes are claimed.

Prizes exceeding $5,000 are subject to applicable tax withholdings.
