Officers responding to a stabbing in Columbus found the suspect nearby, sitting on a parked bus, police said.
COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man accused of stabbing another man and leaving him with a deep wound to his arm was arrested just steps from the scene after police found him sitting on a parked bus, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
Officers responded at about 10 p.m. Friday to the 3400 block of South High Street for a report of a man who had been stabbed.
When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from a deep laceration to his arm.
The victim was transported to a hospital and was listed in stable condition, police said.
Witnesses told officers the suspect was still in the area and was sitting inside a parked bus nearby.
Police located the suspect and identified him as 37-year-old Benjamin Cordle.
Cordle was arrested and charged with felonious assault.
Authorities have not released details about what led to the stabbing or the relationship between the suspect and the victim.
The charge is an allegation, and Cordle is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
