Bronx, NY – A late-night stabbing inside a Bronx apartment left one man dead and another injured Saturday, authorities said.

Deadly confrontation inside apartment

According to police, officers from the 42nd Precinct responded to a 911 call reporting a stabbing at 341 East 162nd Street at approximately 11:25 p.m. When they arrived, they found a 48-year-old man with a stab wound to the neck and a 39-year-old man suffering from multiple lacerations to his arm.

One victim pronounced dead at scene

Emergency Medical Services declared the 48-year-old victim deceased at the scene. The second man was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was listed in stable condition. Authorities did not immediately release the names of either victim pending family notification.

Suspect held as investigation unfolds

A person of interest was taken into custody at the location shortly after the incident. Police have not yet confirmed whether charges have been filed. Detectives from the 42nd Precinct and Bronx homicide investigators are continuing to process evidence and interview witnesses as they work to determine the motive behind the stabbing.
