COLUMBUS, OH – On July 15, 2021, at 11:23 pm, officers were dispatched to the area of 902 Geers Ave. on the report of gunfire. Officers arrived at the scene and found a male in the front yard of 901 Geers Ave. suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, 30-year-old Gavin Lane, was transported to Grant Medical Center with critical life-threatening injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 12:36 am. Witnesses stated shortly after the shots were fired a white SUV was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed. The investigation is ongoing.
