BRONX, N.Y. – The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a violent daytime assault that left a man injured in the Bronx.

According to the NYPD, the attack occurred at approximately 12 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, outside 280 East 162nd Street.

Investigators said a 29-year-old man was approached by an unidentified individual who used a cutting instrument to slash the victim across the back of the neck before fleeing the area on foot.

Suspect fled north on Morris Avenue

Police said the suspect ran northbound on Morris Avenue immediately after the assault.

Authorities have not released a description of the suspect or disclosed a possible motive for the attack. The victim’s condition has also not been released.

Detectives continue to investigate the assault and are reviewing available surveillance footage and other evidence. The NYPD is urging anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about the incident to come forward.
