Powerball frenzy sweeps New Jersey as multiple million-dollar tickets hit across state
Trenton, NJ — A surge of high-value lottery wins swept across New Jersey in just one week, with multiple Powerball tickets worth $1 million and $2 million sold at locations spanning the state.
From April 27 through May 3, New Jersey Lottery officials reported that 25 players won prizes of at least $10,000, including a cluster of major Powerball wins on April 29.
Four tickets worth $2 million were sold in Brigantine, Rivervale, Somerdale, and Union City, while more than a dozen additional tickets matched for $1 million prizes at retailers across Bergen, Essex, Middlesex, Monmouth, Passaic, Union, and Ocean counties.
Among the locations selling $1 million tickets were stores in Newark, Toms River, Holmdel, Old Bridge, and Elizabeth, highlighting the widespread nature of the wins.
In addition to Powerball prizes, other significant wins included a $500,000 Triple Match ticket sold in Perth Amboy and a $500,000 scratch-off prize in West Long Branch.
Several $100,000 and $10,000 prizes were also reported throughout the week, including wins in Englewood, Newark, and Jersey City.
Lottery officials noted that proceeds continue to support education programs across the state.
