HARRISBURG, PA — A Montgomery County man has been sentenced to three to six years in state prison after scamming multiple homeowners out of more than $156,000 by failing to complete contracted home improvement work.

Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that Jared Wyllie, 48, was also ordered to serve two years of probation and pay full restitution to his victims.

Between 2021 and 2022, Wyllie operated under the business name PROjex, LLC, falsely claiming to be a licensed contractor. He entered into agreements with four homeowners, accepting upfront payments while fraudulently using another contractor’s license information. One victim testified they lost over $100,000 and were forced to sell their home at a loss.

Investigators found Wyllie never had a valid contractor number. Complaints against him included substandard work, unfulfilled repairs, and taking payments without completing projects. In one instance, he collected $27,900.10 for roof repairs but only installed a plastic tarp.
