Police Conduct Quality of Life Detail in Silver Spring

SILVER SPRING, MD—The Montgomery County Department of Police, alongside the Maryland State Police, recently concluded a three-day high-visibility patrol initiative aimed at curbing crime and enhancing the quality of life around Silver Spring.

The operation, which ran from Monday through Wednesday, focused on strategic areas including MD Route 29, I-495, and the surrounding neighborhoods.

During this initiative, the focus was particularly on the Route 29 corridor, especially within the Fairland and Briggs Chaney regions. The outcomes of this enforcement effort included 102 traffic stops, 71 citations, 99 warnings, two warrant arrests, three impaired driving arrests, one handgun arrest, and the recovery of one stolen vehicle.

Chief Marcus Jones of the Montgomery County Police highlighted the success of the partnership, stating, “Our partnership with the Maryland State Police exemplifies our dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents. By focusing on high-visibility patrols and strategic enforcement, we aim to deter criminal activity and address quality of life issues that impact our community.”
