Motorcycle Crash Claims Life in Stamford

Stamford, CT – The Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad is conducting an investigation into a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred near the intersection of Long Ridge Road and Brook Run Lane. The incident took place on Thursday at approximately 12:10 a.m.

A 2014 BMW motorcycle was traveling northbound on Long Ridge Road when it veered off the roadway near Brook Run Lane. The vehicle struck a fence and then collided with a tree, resulting in the rider being ejected from the motorcycle.

The operator of the motorcycle, identified as 44-year-old Stamford resident Heber Lopez, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Authorities are encouraging anyone with additional information or who may have witnessed the crash to contact the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad at (203) 977-4712. The investigation is being led by Sgt. Jeffrey Booth and Officer Lindsey Yanicky.
