Student’s comment sparks lockdown at Brooklawn Middle School

Parsippany, NJ – Brooklawn Middle School was placed on lockdown Wednesday morning after a student reportedly overheard another student make alarming remarks about a possible weapon on campus.

According to officials, the lockdown was initiated out of an abundance of caution shortly after the concerning statements were reported. The student who allegedly made the remarks was quickly located and secured by school staff, the school security officer, and the School Resource Officer.

Authorities conducted a swift assessment of the situation and determined there was no immediate threat to students or staff. The lockdown was lifted shortly afterward, and the school returned to normal operations.

The Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident. Officials have not released the exact nature of the comments made or whether any disciplinary actions will be taken.
