NEW KENSINGTON, PA—Local authorities have charged Nico Harris, 40, with criminal homicide, burglary, and criminal trespass following the stabbing death of his former roommate, David Risher. The charges stem from an incident reported on July 5, 2024, when New Kensington Police were called to a residence on the 600 block of Freeport Road.
David Risher was discovered deceased within the home, leading to an immediate investigation. Earlier that day, he had been reported missing by a family member after he could not be found by another roommate or relatives. Harris, who had lived at the Freeport Road residence with Risher and another roommate until September 2023, was arraigned on July 6, 2024, and is currently held without bail at the Westmoreland County Prison.
This case is ongoing, and as it involves a pending criminal matter, all charges are regarded as allegations until proven in court.
