Newark woman wanted for questioning in West Market Street shooting
NEWARK, NJ – Police are searching for a Newark woman wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting last month on the city’s West Market Street, where officers responded to gunfire but found no victims at the scene.
Takisha S. Curry, 41, is being sought by detectives investigating the November 30 incident, which occurred just before 8 p.m. on the 300 block of West Market Street. Officers were dispatched to the area following a ShotSpotter alert indicating gunfire. Upon arrival, police found several spent shell casings but no injured individuals.

Investigators have since identified Curry as someone they wish to speak with regarding the firearm discharge. Authorities have not released further details about her potential involvement or whether additional individuals are being sought.
Newark’s Department of Public Safety is asking the public to assist in locating Curry. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Newark Police Division’s Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Tips can be submitted anonymously and may qualify for a reward.
