NEWARK, NJ – Yesterday, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé called for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an armed business robbery. The incident occurred at around 4:03 p.m. when a male suspect entered a business in the 700 block of South Orange Avenue.
The suspect brandished a handgun, forced a store clerk into the cashier area, and took approximately $50 in cash. He then fled the scene on foot, heading towards Grand Avenue and Tremont Avenue.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5’9″ tall with a medium build, dark-brown complexion, wearing a black Nike hooded sweater, black sweatpants, a black ski mask, and white Nike sneakers.
