NYC Housing Authority Worker Charged for Robbery, Strangulation, Endangering Child

NEW YORK — An off-duty New York City employee was arrested late Tuesday night in the 43rd Precinct, the NYPD confirmed.

Elbert Espinosa, a 34-year-old employee of the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), was taken into custody at approximately 11:13 p.m. He faces multiple charges, including second-degree robbery, second-degree strangulation, and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Espinosa is also charged with third-degree assault, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and second-degree harassment.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances of the arrest or the incidents leading to the charges.
