New York, NY – A search is underway for an unidentified man accused of forcibly touching a woman inside one of Manhattan’s busiest transit hubs Friday night. The incident unfolded at the Grand Central–42 Street subway station, prompting an appeal to the public for help identifying the suspect.

According to the NYPD, a 22-year-old woman was walking on the mezzanine level at approximately 8:47 p.m. when the man approached her. Officials say the suspect grabbed the victim’s buttocks over her clothing before fleeing the scene on foot to an unknown location.

“On Friday, March 20, 2026, at approximately 8:47 P.M., a 22-year-old female victim was walking on the mezzanine level of the Grand Central 42 Street subway station when she was approached by an unidentified male individual,” NYPD Crimestoppers stated. “The individual proceeded to grab her buttocks over her clothing before fleeing the incident location on foot to parts unknown.”

The department has not released a description of the suspect, and no arrests have been made as of Sunday.
