QUEENS, N.Y. — An off-duty New York City employee was arrested early Tuesday in Queens on charges of criminal contempt and harassment. The arrest occurred within the confines of the 105th Precinct at approximately 1:49 a.m.
Mdashraful Haque, a 30-year-old male and an NYPD traffic agent, faces charges of first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment. Details regarding the circumstances leading to the arrest were not immediately available.
Criminal contempt in the first degree is a felony in New York State, typically involving violations of orders of protection or court orders. Harassment in the second degree is a misdemeanor charge.
The NYPD has not commented on the arrest or whether any internal disciplinary action will be taken.
As of Tuesday, Haque remained in custody awaiting arraignment.
