One dead, one wounded in Queens shooting outside 108th Street building

QUEENS, NY – A shooting outside a residential building in Queens left one man dead and another injured Thursday night.

Police responded to 5718 108th Street around 8:38 p.m. after a 911 call reported an assault involving gunfire.

Arriving officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds on the sidewalk.

A 28-year-old man was struck in the left leg and taken by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Queens in stable condition.

Victim pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital

The second victim, a 27-year-old man, was shot in the chest and transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Detectives search for suspect

No arrests have been made, and police from the 110th Precinct continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Investigators have not released information on a motive or suspect description.
