SEA GIRT, N.J. – Gov. Phil Murphy joined Brig. Gen. Yvonne L. Mays, Acting Adjutant General of New Jersey, to preside over the state’s annual military review ceremony today in Sea Girt.

The tradition, which dates back more than 130 years, allows the governor in his role as commander-in-chief to formally review Soldiers and Airmen of the New Jersey National Guard. The event was held at the National Guard Training Center, where service members marched in formation and showcased their readiness.

Murphy and Mays saluted the troops as part of the long-standing ceremony. The review highlights the Guard’s contributions both at home and abroad, from disaster response to overseas deployments. He also road atop a Humvee, passing the troops.
