Philadelphia man busted after wild delaware chase and cocaine discovery

FREDERICA, DE – A Philadelphia man is facing multiple felony charges after an early-morning police pursuit through Kent County ended with his arrest and the recovery of suspected cocaine, authorities said.

The incident began around 2:00 a.m. Friday, when a Delaware State Police trooper on patrol along Bay Road near Barratts Chapel Road spotted a Lexus ES300 speeding southbound. When the trooper attempted a traffic stop, the driver refused to pull over, sparking a pursuit that was soon terminated for safety reasons.

Moments later, Milford Police officers located the disabled Lexus near North Street and Dupont Boulevard. As officers approached, the driver — later identified as 29-year-old Marquan Mack of Philadelphia — allegedly tossed a bag from the car before being taken into custody after a brief struggle.

Troopers recovered the discarded bag, which contained roughly 3.5 grams of suspected powder cocaine. Investigators said Mack also provided false identifying information to conceal active warrants in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania for parole and probation violations.

Authorities noted that signs of impairment were observed, and a DUI investigation was conducted at the scene. Mack now faces felony charges related to drug possession, resisting arrest, and providing false identity, along with traffic and DUI offenses.
