PHILADELPHIA, PA – A 33-year-old man was fatally shot at his residence in the Regency Townhomes, located in the 3500 block of Woodhaven, Northeast Philadelphia. The shooting occurred just before midnight, in an incident that also exposed two children under the age of ten and an adult female to the violence.

Upon responding to a knock at his front door, the man was met with gunfire, suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the head and torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medics and police, who arrived by 11:37 PM.

At least 13 shell casings were recovered, indicating the close-range nature of the shooting. There is no evidence of robbery or ransacking at the residence, leading investigators to consider other motives. The incident did not involve theft, suggesting a targeted attack or a random shooting.

Authorities are reviewing doorbell camera footage and seeking additional security videos from neighbors as part of the investigation. This latest homicide adds to Philadelphia’s rising toll, which has recently surpassed 400 homicides.

Two children were inside the home aged under 12 years old. They were uninjured.
