PHILADELPHIA, PA – On Wednesday, the District Attorney’s Office charged 40-year-old Kimbrady Carriker with five counts of Murder, five counts of Attempted Murder, and multiple related offenses in connection to a mass shooting incident on South 56th Street on the night of Monday. The incident, which took place in the Kingsessing neighborhood, resulted in five fatalities and left five others seriously injured.
The deceased were identified as Daujan Brown, 15; Lashyd Merritt, 20; Dymir Stanton, 29; Joseph Wamah, Jr., 31; and Ralph Moralis, 59. Four of the survivors were in a white Jeep Cherokee when Carriker allegedly opened fire.
Following his arraignment on Wednesday, Carriker was denied bail on each Murder case and set at $1.5 million bail on each Attempted Murder case. The Victim Support Services Division and CARES team have contacted the families of the victims.
