Man Arrested in Atlantic City, NJ, for Illegal Weapon Possession After Post Car Crash Fight

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Violence and bizarre behavior continued last week at the Jersey Shore after a beachfront area motor vehicle crash.

A man was arrested for possessing an illegal firearm following a beach altercation in Atlantic City. The incident, which included a crash and a large brawl, occurred last Thursday at 9:13 PM on the beach block of New York Avenue.

Responding to reports of a fight involving multiple individuals, Atlantic City patrol officers encountered Joseph Miller, who was actively involved in the altercation. During the conflict, a woman commandeered Miller’s vehicle and subsequently crashed into a light pole and a fire hydrant before fleeing the scene with several unidentified individuals.

Post-altercation, Miller retrieved a rifle from his vehicle’s trunk. Officers found the rifle and arrested Miller on multiple firearm-related charges, including unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possession of a large-capacity magazine.

Joseph Miller, a 19-year-old resident of Philadelphia, PA, has been remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

The individuals who fled the scene have not been apprehended.
