Manhunt underway after deadly quadruple shooting kills two in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — Police are searching for two suspects wanted in connection with a brutal quadruple shooting that left two men dead and a 7-year-old girl wounded on Saturday evening in the city’s 39th District.

The incident occurred around 8:22 p.m. on July 26 on the 1900 block of W. Hunting Park Avenue. Responding officers found two adult males suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to Temple University Hospital, where they died shortly after arrival.

The victims were identified as Nyfik Johnson, 29, and Quron Ross-Weems, also 29, both of Philadelphia. Johnson sustained multiple gunshots to the body and head, while Ross-Weems was shot in the head.

Two additional victims—a 26-year-old woman and a 7-year-old girl—were taken to Einstein Hospital by private vehicle. The woman, who was shot in the arm, is in stable condition. The child, who suffered a graze wound to the scalp, was later transferred to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and is also stable.

The Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit has identified two suspects and issued arrest warrants:

  • Lawrence Coleman, 25, Black male, 5’9”, 150 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes
  • Virgil Williams, 29, Black male, 6’4”, 210 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes

Police are warning the public not to approach the suspects, who are considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 immediately. A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
