Police hunt subway groper who attacked woman leaving myrtle avenue station

Brooklyn, NY – A young woman was assaulted as she exited a Brooklyn subway station Monday evening, prompting a citywide manhunt for the suspect.

The 22-year-old victim was leaving the Myrtle Avenue “J” train station around 5:55 p.m. when a man came up from behind and grabbed her buttocks before running off.

The attacker fled the scene on foot and vanished into nearby streets as the victim alerted police.

NYPD seeks public’s help

Investigators with the 83rd Precinct and Transit District 33 are asking anyone with information to come forward. The suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion, last seen wearing a tan baseball cap, a blue hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black sneakers.

Authorities have not yet released additional details about the suspect’s direction of flight but confirmed that the victim was unharmed.
