Police Release Images of Suspect in D.C. Pipe Assault

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Police in D.C. are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an armed robbery that occurred in Northwest D.C.

Early in the morning on Wednesday, July 31, at approximately 2:39 a.m., a suspect approached a victim in the 800 block of G Street, Northwest. The suspect asked for a cigarette and money and when the victim attempted to walk away, the suspect, armed with a metal pipe, assaulted the victim and fled with their belongings. DC Fire and EMS treated the victim at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident was captured by nearby surveillance cameras, and images of the suspect are available.

The Metropolitan Police Department urges anyone who can identify this suspect or has any information about the incident to contact police at (202) 727-9099 or text a tip to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this violent crime.
