School placed on lockdown after suspicious man with 'bulletproof vest'

Early Sunday morning, the Stafford Township Police Department was alerted to a potentially concerning situation involving a suspicious male spotted near Mckinley Avenue and Doc Cramer Blvd. The caller described the individual as a tall white male wearing an orange flannel shirt under a bulletproof vest. With nearby events, including sports activities and Sunday School at Saint Mary’s Parish Center, safety precautions were swiftly enacted.

In response to the report, patrol units promptly arrived on the scene, initiating a temporary lockdown at the Parish Center and advising parents to remain in their vehicles. After a thorough search of the area, officers successfully located and identified the individual, determining that he was exercising with a weighted vest for training purposes.

The vest, initially suspected to be bulletproof, was found to be innocuous, and normal activities resumed without incident.
