NORFOLK, VA – Thomas J. Obryen, 41, has been recently charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Angela R. Joyner, 51, in 2021.

The charges come as a result of ongoing unrelated sexual assault investigations.

On October 16, 2021, police officers responded to a report of an unresponsive woman in the 700 block of E. Little Creek Road. Joyner was later identified and pronounced dead at the hospital due to her injuries.

Obryen is currently being held without bond at Norfolk City Jail on charges related to the ongoing sexual assault investigations that occurred on March 26th, 2023, and April 27th, 2023.
