Police say the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a late-night shooting in West Baltimore.

BALTIMORE, Md. — A person seeking help after a late-night shooting walked into a Baltimore fire station Wednesday night, leading police to investigate gunfire reported just blocks away.

Officers responded at about 11:28 p.m. Wednesday to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1500 block of Mosher Street, according to Baltimore Police.

When officers arrived, they found evidence that shots had been fired but did not locate a victim at the scene.

Moments later, police were dispatched to a fire station in the 1500 block of West Lafayette Avenue, where a shooting victim had arrived seeking medical treatment.

The victim was transported to an area hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Police have not released the victim’s age or gender.

Western District shooting detectives responded to the scene and are continuing to investigate.

Authorities said detectives are working to identify a suspect and determine a motive.
