SUITLAND, MD—A swift response from the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Gun Crimes Unit led to the arrest of Nicholas Norris, 23, from Suitland, in relation to a non-contact shooting incident earlier this month. Norris was apprehended following an investigation into the shooting that occurred on July 5.

The incident unfolded at around 6:25 AM at a business located in the 5100 block of Auth Road. According to reports, Norris allegedly fired at a victim during an attempted robbery, although the victim escaped without injury. Through their investigation, detectives were able to identify Norris as the suspect and secured an arrest warrant charging him with attempted first and second degree murder, among other related charges.

Norris was taken into custody on July 12. Following his arrest, investigators executed a search warrant at his residence where they discovered several firearms, parts, and equipment used for manufacturing firearms. The police are urging anyone with additional information to come forward and contact the Gun Crimes Unit at 301-772-8960 to assist with the ongoing investigation.
