WASHINGTON, D.C. — A group of armed individuals is being sought in connection with a late-night robbery in Southeast Washington, D.C., where two victims were assaulted and robbed at gunpoint in August.
The incident occurred on August 20, at approximately 2:07 a.m., in the 1200 block of Sumner Road, Southeast, when the victims were surrounded by multiple suspects. One suspect reportedly aimed a handgun at the back of a victim’s head while demanding property.
As the second victim attempted to run, they were struck in the head with a handgun, police said. The suspects fled with stolen items, including car keys, and later abandoned the vehicle in Northeast D.C.
Images of five of the suspects were captured on surveillance cameras and have been released by law enforcement in an effort to identify those involved.
Anyone with information about the suspects or the incident is encouraged to contact police, who are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for tips leading to an arrest and conviction.
