Suspect at large after thwarted robbery near Northwest DC residence

WASHINGTON, DC — A suspect who tried to rob two victims as they entered a residence in Northwest DC on Wednesday afternoon is being sought by police, who are asking for the community’s help in identifying the individual.

The incident occurred on January 8 at approximately 12:27 p.m. in the 1900 block of Calvert Street NW. According to the victims, the suspect attempted to follow them into the residence and demanded property. When the victims refused to comply, the suspect fled the scene.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect, and police have released photos in an effort to identify the individual.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the incident is urged to call police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to 50411. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
