Suspect Charged with Attempted Murder in Chicago Shooting

CHICAGO, IL – Erick Williams, a 34-year-old man from Chicago, has been arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder after allegedly shooting and injuring a 34-year-old male on April 20, 2023. The shooting took place in the 4400 block of W. Gladys in Chicago’s 11th District.

Williams was apprehended by Chicago police officers on Tuesday, in the 1200 block of S. Kilbourn. He was identified as the primary suspect in the shooting after an extensive investigation by the Chicago Police Department. Williams now faces one felony count of attempted first-degree murder and is being held in police custody.

He is scheduled to appear in Central Bond Court at 2600 S. California on Thursday. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting is ongoing, and authorities have not released any additional information at this time.
