Attorney General Advocates for Robocall Database Improvement
**HARRISBURG, PA** — Attorney General Michelle Henry has joined a bipartisan group of 46 Attorneys General urging the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to enhance its Robocall Mitigation Database. This call to action aims to address an oversight used by bad actors to reach Pennsylvanians via unwanted calls and text messages.
Attorney General Henry remarked on the daily influx of spam robocalls and texts received by Pennsylvanians. She expressed support for efforts to combat illegal nuisance robocalls alongside her peers in the coalition.
Voice service providers are currently required to register with the FCC’s database. However, since its inception in 2021, there has been a lack of oversight, leading to the submission of unverified information and no repercussions for misleading or incomplete details.
The coalition urges the FCC to implement stricter measures and deadlines within the database. These changes aim to prevent bad actors from accessing the U.S. telephone network and reaching residents. Attorney General Henry participates in the Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force and is dedicated to investigating and enforcing actions against illegal robocall perpetrators.
