OCEAN CITY, MD – A seventeen-year-old male was arrested Tuesday night following a weapons violation incident at a motel near 20th Street in Ocean City.
The Ocean City Police were called to the scene at approximately 9:23 PM after receiving a report from a complainant who claimed that a male had pointed a handgun at him in one of the motel rooms.
The complainant also provided a description of the vehicle in which the suspect fled. This information led to the identification and subsequent arrest of the seventeen-year-old for the alleged weapons violation.
Under Maryland law, juveniles accused of specific offenses such as first-degree assault or handgun charges can be charged as adults, provided they meet certain age requirements.
