WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A 15-year-old from Stratford, Connecticut, has been sentenced to 13 years to life in prison for fatally shooting a man in Yonkers last year, Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace announced.

The defendant, who was 14 at the time of the crimes, was convicted of murdering Daquan Glenn, 29, during a shooting at Doyle Park on August 26, 2024. Prosecutors said Glenn suffered multiple gunshot wounds, including two to the head, and was pronounced dead at Saint Joseph’s Medical Center. A second victim was found nearby with a gunshot wound to the leg and survived.

Just a month before the murder, the defendant attempted to kill another person by firing a loaded gun at them. For that earlier offense, he received a separate sentence of one to three years, which will run consecutively with the murder term.

Judge Helen Blackwood denied youthful offender status, citing the severity and violent nature of the crimes.

District Attorney Cacace called the case a stark reminder of a growing trend of youth violence. “The defendant’s lethal spree is all the more shocking given his age,” she said. “We are seeing young offenders embrace merciless violence as a way of settling scores. This plague upon our communities must be addressed with every tool at our disposal.”

The investigation was led by the Yonkers Police Department and the FBI’s Safe Streets Task Force. The case was prosecuted by Bureau Chief Jonathan Strongin and ADA Brian Bendish of the Homicide Bureau.
