VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Police are investigating a deadly shooting that left a 19-year-old Chesapeake man dead early New Year’s Day in the 3700 block of Frazier Lane.

According to the Virginia Beach Police Department, officers were dispatched around 12:31 a.m. after Emergency Communication and Citizens Services received reports of a person suffering from a gunshot wound. Responding officers found the victim, identified as Jeremiah Cuffee, with an apparent gunshot injury.

Cuffee was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Detectives from the VBPD Detective Bureau are handling the investigation, though police have not announced any suspects or motive.
