Chicago, IL – Two 16-year-old males have been charged in connection with a knife-point robbery of an 18-year-old man aboard a Chicago train last month.

Police said both teens were taken into custody Tuesday in the 1100 block of South Hamilton Avenue.

The pair are accused of confronting and robbing the victim on September 15 while on a train in the 400 block of South Western Avenue in the city’s 11th District.

According to investigators, the teens allegedly took personal property from the victim during the encounter before fleeing the scene.

Felony robbery charges filed

Each juvenile now faces one felony count of robbery involving a dangerous weapon. Authorities confirmed both were identified through the investigation before being arrested this week.

Officials have not released the victim’s condition or whether any of the stolen items were recovered. The offenders remain in custody pending juvenile court proceedings.

Investigation remains ongoing

Police did not disclose how the suspects were identified or whether additional arrests are expected. Detectives continue to review surveillance footage and witness statements related to the incident.

No further details have been made available.

The city’s transit system has seen an uptick in robbery investigations in recent months, though officials maintain most incidents involve isolated acts rather than organized patterns.
